Freelance Translator Positions

We welcome the opportunity to work with outstanding professional translators and are currently recruiting for all language combinations. To qualify for freelance translation assignments, you must have excellent native language proficiency, near-native ability in your source languages, and expertise in an area outside of the language pair itself, for example legal terminology. All of the translators we work with must be computer literate and be accessible through fax and e-mail.

The following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor or Master of Arts degree in Translation; degree in a subject additional to Translation preferred
  • At least three years experience as full-time freelance translator
  • ATA-accreditation in your language pair, if offered, or professional certification by your respective government (if outside the U.S.)
  • Computer literacy (basic software programs, such as Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Reader)
  • Subject specialization, particularly legal and finance fields
  • Strong references that can attest to your record of timely project deliveries and quality of work

Freelance Publishing Positions

Latitude48 is always looking to work with talented graphic artists and publishing professionals. To qualify for publishing assignments, you must have extensive experience in localization of graphical elements and expertise in multilingual typesetting. All of the publishers that we work with must have their own multilingual software applications and be accessible through fax and e-mail.

The following qualifications are required:

  1. Bachelor degree in graphic design, technical writing or related field
  2. At least three years experience as full-time graphic designer (in-house or freelance)
  3. Proficiency in relevant publishing applications such as Quark Xpress, PhotoShop, PageMaker, etc.
  4. Multilingual preferred; experience with Asian language fonts required
  5. Strong references that can attest to your record of timely project deliveries and quality of work
